some aphorism

1. A bosom friend a far brings a distant land near. 海内存知己,天涯若比邻。bosom: (1) a woman's breasts; (2) a bosom friend :a very close friend

2. A common danger causes common action. 同舟共济。

3. A contented mind is a continual / perpetual feast. 知足常乐。cotented :satisfied and happy;       perpetual : (1) asting for ever or for a long time;  (2) happening often or all the time(a word usede to express disapproval);     feast: (1) an unusually large and often public meal for a special occasion;(2)a day when a particular religious event is remembered.
     4. A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit. 吃一堑,长一智。

pit:(1) a large natural or man-made hole in the ground;(2)a deep hole dug in the ground to get coal out;(3)a small hollow mark or place in the surface of something;(4)the pit of your stomach:your stomach,when you are describing a phsical feeling of fear;(5) the low space in front of a theatre stage where musicians sit and play during a performance;(6)the pit: the seats at the back of the groud floor of a theatre.     wit:(1)the ability to say things which are both clever and amusing (2)have the wit to do something: to be clever or sensible enough to do something.(3) at your wit's end: made too worried by difficulties to know what to do next.(4)frighten/scare someone out of their wits: to frighten someone very much.(5) have/keep your wits about you:to be ready to act sensibly.(6)-witted: have a particular type of ability or understanding.

5. A guest should suit the convenience of the host. 客随主便。

6. A letter from home is a priceless treasure. 家书抵万金。

7. All rivers run into the sea. 殊途同归。

8. All time is no time when it is past. 机不可失,时不再来。

9. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. 一日一个苹果,身体健康不求医。

idle:adj (1)azy;(2)not working;(3)having no useful result .    idled,idling v (1)to waste time doing nothing;(2)to run slowly(usede of an engine)

13. Bad luck often brings good luck. 塞翁失马,安知非福。

14. Bread is the stall of life. 面包是生命的支柱。(民以食为天。)
